TMS Patient Experience: Phillip

TMS Patient Experience: Phillip

I’m more optimistic about my future. I’ve even been told by people that they can tell I’m better.

Phillip, TMS patient

We’re proud of the technology, team, and process we offer our patients seeking Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment.

(New to TMS? Learn more about it here.)

And as we witness each patient experience the benefits for themselves, we’re right there celebrating alongside them!

This week, we’re talking with Phillip about his experience with TMS.

Thanks for taking the time to chat with us, Phillip! Can you share a bit about what life felt like prior to beginning TMS treatment?

I was experiencing low energy and motivation. Obsessing over negative things and ruminating for hours. Very unproductive in day-to-day functions.

What had you tried (before TMS) to address these challenges?

Everything. Medication, therapy, groups, supplements…

I don’t remember how I first learned about it. But, through Facebook, I knew that Sonder offered Neurostar TMS treatment.

Any hesitations about exploring TMS for yourself? What made you decide to give it a try?

After ECT, I was concerned about possible side effects.

But, I have literally no side effects. I actually think it helped relieve some of the side effects of ECT.

Sonder made it affordable for me, too.

What was the experience like for you?

Excellent. It was a wonderful experience.

The staff are professional and friendly. Dani was my primary technician and she is a true professional.

What were some of the first changes you noticed after beginning treatment?

I felt ‘brighter’ and ‘lighter’ mentally and even physically. I found that I was calmer and just began to feel more positive.

How does life feel different now, after TMS treatment?

I’m more optimistic about my future.

I’ve been told by people that they can tell I’m better. I had an annual inspection in my building. My land lady told me that she could tell I was doing better, a lot better. She said my apartment even “feels better.”

Any advice or encouragement you’d like to share with someone considering TMS?

Do it. It is not ECT.

Stick with it. The magnet feels better after a few treatments.

There where no negative side effects whatsoever.

You’ll begin feeling better in a couple weeks to a month.

Get plenty of rest at night.

The best part is that… it works!

Thanks, Phillip! We’re honored to have worked with you.
