And, in the process, we’ve welcomed some exceptional new providers to our team.
To celebrate, we’re introducing you to the humans behind the many services we offer.
This week, we’re talking with TMS treater, Lisa Lemke:
Thanks for taking the time to chat with us, Lisa! What do you love most about your role at Sonder?
It’s wonderful to see the positive impact of TMS in the lives of our clients!
What drew you to this work? What keeps you going?
I have been an LPN for 28 years, and the majority of my experience is in mental health.
I worked inpatient for many years. For the past 10 years I have worked at outpatient mental health clinics as a triage nurse.
I love working with people, I have a heart for those suffering from any type of mental illness. I love to be able to help people the best I can. I have been told I am a good listener. I find it deeply personally rewarding to assist others in difficult times.
We know that there are many misconceptions about emotional wellness out there. What’s one myth that you’d like to erase for good?
The idea that people who are struggling are not working hard enough to get themselves in a better place.
When you’re not working, what are you most likely up to?
Spending time with my family and friends, cooking, going out to eat, playing board games, going for walks, or hanging out with my dog and cat.
As providers, it’s essential that we maintain our own emotional wellness practices. What does self-care look like for you these days?
Doing my daily devotions, spending time with God, and going to church. Also I try to get out in nature as much as possible.
I try to laugh as much as I can. My sense of humor has carried me through a lot in my life.
Thanks, Lisa! We’re grateful to have you on the team.
