Meet the Team: Lauren

So many patients that I treat have amazing jobs and, frankly, you’d never know they were suffering from depression if you just met them in a work environment or out and about.

Lauren, TMS Treater

Sonder’s growing!

And in the process we’ve welcomed some exceptional new members to our team.

To celebrate, we’re introducing you to the humans behind the many services we offer.

This week, we’re talking with TMS treater, Lauren:

Thanks for taking the time to chat with us, Lauren! What do you love most about your role at Sonder?

What I enjoy most about my role at Sonder is getting to know the TMS patients and being able to watch them get better!

What first brought you to this work? What keeps you going?

I started at Sonder as an intern right out of college working as a TMS Technician and what keeps me going is the work environment, staff, and getting to help people battle their depression!

We know that there are many myths about emotional wellness out there. What’s one misconception that you’d like to erase for good?

One misconception about emotional wellness that I see is the misunderstanding that people battling depression cannot work.

So many patients that I treat have amazing jobs, and frankly, you would never know they were suffering from depression if you just met them in a work environment or out and about.

What’s something clients/patients might be surprised to learn about you?

Something that patients at Sonder might be surprised to learn about me is that I am a twin! I always tell patients about my twin brother as a “fun fact” about me!

When you’re not working, what are you most likely up to?

When I’m not working at Sonder, I’m most likely doing some sort of outdoor activity! I love being on the lake in the summer and finding cool hiking trails around Minnesota throughout the year! The winter can be tricky when it’s so cold outside but ice skating is always a fun time!

As healthcare providers, it’s essential that we maintain our own emotional wellness practices. What does self-care look like for you these days?

For me, self-care consists of moving my body in some way, shape, or form at some point during the day! Whether that means working out, going for a walk, or stretching. Also, drinking enough water every day and taking care of my skin makes me happy!

Thanks, Lauren! We’re grateful to have you on the team.
