Emotional wellness means putting yourself first and taking care of your own needs so you can care for and support the other positive energies around you.
Sonder’s growing! And, in the process, we’ve welcomed some exceptional new medication providers to our team.
To celebrate, we’re kicking off a brand new blog series to introduce you to the humans behind the medication management services we offer.
This week, we’re talking with our psychiatric coordinator, Mallory Feeney:
Thanks for taking the time to chat with us, Mallory! What do you love most about your role at Sonder?
Helping people and seeing positive change in their lives. And working with my lovely providers and coworkers, of course!
What’s one misconception or misunderstanding you see about emotional wellness?
That struggling is something to be ashamed of or that it’s unfixable.
To me, emotional wellness means putting yourself first and taking care of your own needs so you can care for and support the other positive energies around you.
As providers, it’s essential that we maintain our own emotional wellness practices. What does self-care look like for you these days?
Yoga! I love doing yoga when I’m feeling down or unmotivated to boost my spirit.
Cool! Any tips for folks who want to give yoga a try?
It can be intimidating to try something new, especially when you’re surrounded by a bunch of people who might’ve been practicing yoga for awhile.
Try not to let that get to you because everyone has a different goal in mind and their own reasoning behind the practice (e.g., stress relief, balance training, flexibility, exercise, meditation, strength building, or simply clearing their head!).
You’re one of the first points of contact for many Sonder patients. What can someone expect when they first seek care with us?
New patients can expect great care from their provider(s) and supporting team members. Sonder has such a positive and welcoming environment that you can’t find at just any behavioral health clinic!
Thanks, Mallory! We’re grateful to have you on the team.
