I believe that people's concerns exist within the context of their overall life--not in an isolated vacuum of symptoms. I strive to follow an evidenced-based approach in conducting both therapy and assessments. My approach to therapy rests on the premise that personal values and goals are the best long-term drivers of our behaviors. I believe that feeling better is not always the same as getting better; that making meaningful, long-standing changes in one's life often requires some sacrifice in discomfort. Working with clients, through their own efforts and persistence, I strive to help them bring about real changes that affect the whole of their lives. In this regard, I view 'symptoms' or 'problematic behaviors' as one piece of information that exists in the context of one's history, relationships, values, and ambitions.

I have two branches of my personal practice—assessment & treatment. For assessment: I specialize in the assessment of ADHD/ADD/Learning Disorders, Autism-Spectrum, and Differential Diagnosis (e.g., OCD vs GAD). For therapy, I specialize in the delivery of evidence-based therapies for a variety of presenting concerns. My primary expertise is in the treatment of anxiety and trauma, writ large. I have specific expertise in the treatment of OCD and post-partum OCD. I have extensive experience in the delivery of Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and exposure-based treatments of anxiety disorders and trauma. For mood disorders, my approach tends to rely on behavioral activation and cognitive restructuring. In addition to my experience treating mood/anxiety disorders in children and adults, I have two additional sub-specialties. I have a specialty in the treatment of pediatric and adolescent self-regulation disorders (e.g., ADHD/ ODD [Oppositional Defiant Disorder]).
