Dr. Camsari obtained his medical degree (Doctor of Medicine) at Ege University School of Medicine in Izmir, Turkey. He completed his psychiatry residency training at Cleveland Clinic and Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry subspecialty training at University of Maryland in Baltimore, and Addiction Psychiatry subspecialty training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He is a diplomate of American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology and American Board of Preventive Medicine; an active member of Society of Biological Psychiatry, Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry and World Psychiatric Association.
Dr. Camsari has been in medical practice since 2002, has practiced in 5 different states, and has subspecialty expertise in psychiatric care of the medically ill and addictive disorders. He has extensive experience in different settings including inpatient, outpatient, and consultation models. Dr. Camsari has 10 years of experience in academic psychiatry and was involved in supervision and teaching of medical trainees at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, and Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. He served on the faculty at Mayo Clinic in Rochester for 6 years as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and published over 30 articles in the fields of neuroscience, addiction, animal models in psychiatry and clinical psychiatry during his academic career, reaching an h-index of 13 as of 2020. Dr. Camsari also served as the Chair of Psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross between 2013 and 2016.
