Description :

Life is beautiful and meaningful in many ways, yet it is also painful, challenging, and difficult at times. My goal as a therapist is to learn about what makes you who you are, including your goals, values, and strengths. I will walk alongside you as you learn to channel the qualities you already have to work through the challenging parts of life and create the life you want to live.

I use evidence-based interventions, which means I focus on interventions that have been proven to work based on research in the field of psychology. However, I utilize them as they make sense for each individual person. I approach therapy in an open, authentic, and collaborative manner and will often seek your feedback regarding our progress toward therapy goals and how our work is meeting your needs. I have specialized training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical-Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Behavioral Activation.

Education :

My doctoral and post-doctoral training has included work with children, adolescents, families, and adults from a variety of socioeconomic, racial/ethnic, religious/spiritual, and sexual orientation diversities. I deeply value diversity and strive to continuously learn more about myself and others in order to provide competent care in this area. I have experience working in large hospital settings that includes work in multidisciplinary teams and on medical units. I also have experience in therapy and psychological assessment (i.e., personality, intelligence, academic, and ADHD/learning). Over the past 5 years, my career has focused specifically on individual therapy with young adults, adolescents, and children/families. My career goals are to continue therapy with young adults and adults while devoting a small portion of my caseload to continued work with children and families.
